Invisalign

The Invisalign system consists of a series of clear, removable aligners that gradually move your teeth into proper alignment. There are no metal brackets or wires involved, and no one will be able to tell you're wearing them. They are most effective in patients with mild to moderate misalignment issues.

Invisalign is the most popular brand of clear aligner used by orthodontists today. Clear aligners are great because they offer a clearer, less noticeable alternative to braces and do not interfere with brushing and flossing. While aligners have come a long way in recent years and can treat a wide variety of orthodontic issues, not everyone is a candidate for them. We will go over your specific needs and discuss both braces and aligners at our treatment planning appointment so you can make a comfortable, informed decision for you or your child.

How Does It Work?

Your first step in the Invisalign process is to visit our orthodontist for an examination and consultation to see if they're right for you. If they are, they will take impressions, X-rays, and pictures of your smile to send to a special lab that makes your custom-made aligners. Each set of aligners is designed for your individual needs and slowly moves your teeth into the correct position. You need to wear each aligner for around two weeks before moving on to the next set in the series. Most people complete their treatment between 18 months and two years. However, treatment time may vary from patient to patient. Once your treatment is complete, you will need to wear a retainer to keep your teeth in place.

What Are the Benefits of Invisalign?

Patients who have misaligned teeth, crookedness, or gaps between their teeth should consider getting treatment with invisible braces. The benefits of this orthodontic treatment are listed below:

Discreet Appearance

Invisalign clear aligners are nearly invisible when worn, so patients can feel confident during their treatment. Unlike metal braces that are easy to see in a patient's smile, these aligners can be removed for eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing. Patients do not have to worry about feeling self-conscious about wearing braces during treatment.

Fast Results

Treatment with Invisalign is much faster than traditional braces. The average patient wears their aligner for approximately one year before achieving their final outcome. However, the length of treatment depends on the severity of the case and how much the patient is able to commit to wearing the aligners throughout the day. The length of treatment also varies by provider and what orthodontic issues are present.

Fewer Dental Visits

An average patient will visit our orthodontist's office once every four to six weeks to receive their next set of aligners. During appointments, our team monitors the progress of the treatment and ensures that patients are following proper hygiene techniques with their aligners. This gives patients the opportunity to ask questions and receive the support they need throughout their treatment.

Comfortable Alignment

For patients with misalignment, crowding, or overlapping of teeth, choosing straighter teeth may be easier than you think. At Cinema Orthodontics, we offer our patients quality, comprehensive care with Invisalign that can improve the appearance of their smile while correcting their bite as well.
